The old time neighborhood diner. The food is always perfectly prepared. The service is excellent. I have never left Ned's unhappy!
Always good and consistently good. Great place to take company. Never had an average meal...always really good. Service is excellen!
Stopped here for lunch - it was very busy but we were seated immediately. I ordered the Mussels in a red sauce and my wife ordered shrimp off the Gluten Free menu (a nice touch). The mussels were most likely pre-cooked and were OK but not great - I would not order it again. My wife loved the GF Shrimp dish - it was a very generous meal with veggies and mashed potatoes. The service was very friendly. I would come back but not for the mussels. Prices are very reasonable and as this is locally owned, I would recommend Ned's over any chain trash.
Lunch at Ned's Southside Kitchen on Friday. I had the fish and chips. Excellent everything was really hot. Fries hot and crispy---so yummy. Wife had her usual Dixie Chicken yummy and lots of food we have leftovers. Always a 5 at Ned's. Great food large portions and a very friendly staff. Love this place.
Ned's has consistently provided fantastic food! It is our go to place in the neighborhood! The only place I know of in town that has prime rib! I love their conch fritters and the deserts are exceptional! Cheers Ned's for your great food and service!
Let's start with service. It's great. Ask for Tony or Crystal. They know the food and menu and are great about their service. The food rocks. Get a side house salad with anything. Fried cheese spedini I my fave appetizer. Ambiance is nice and casual. Very St Augustine
Lunch with hubby. Hubby had the shrimp and grits and I had the chicken salad with came with a side salad and pita wedges. We also ordered an appetizer, caprese plate which was awesome. Recommend this place
What a delightfully tasty dining choice! Always so flavorful and fresh. Today my lady had the grilled shrimp salad which was HUGE and when I say huge I mean bigger than your head huge ...unfortunately I did not take a photo of her salad . It had shrimp and bacon and lettuce and tomato and the shrimp were delicious and fresh and grilled just right, it also had croutons, and their homemade ranch is not something you want to skip. Myself, I had pretty much my regular, which is the Eggplant Parm . I substitute collard greens for the vegetable alongside the angel hair pasta blend which completes the simple perfection of this meal. Ned's recipe for homemade, robust marinara sauce is richly flavored and slightly chunky, and there's no disguising the tomatoey goodness . The collards were exceptionally tender today with a myriad of flavors from the ham to the slow cooked pot-liquor and spices, plus with a dash of the Datil pepper vinegar hot sauce made for some cool weather perfection. We make a point of stopping by anytime we are within 20 miles, which is usually about twice a month Ned's will forever be our first choice in Saint Augustine, because of the quality of their food, the attentiveness and professionalism of their staff , and the variety and consistency of their menu. Ned's Southern Kitchen was recommended as part of a post-meeting gathering. The restaurant was fairly busy because it was post lunchtime. The service was fine considering the number in our group. I had the liver with onions and gravy, a side of collard greens, and veggies (carrots, string beans, and sauerkraut). The portion was generous and enough for two meals. It was pretty tasty too. Others at my table had a delicious-looking frittata, Cuban sandwich, fried fish, and a fried fish platter. Everyone enjoyed their meals and claimed that they will be revisiting the restaurant. I probably will too.
A local gem! An absolute delight! Fast service, HUGE portions, and lovely staff. I always leave with leftovers. Really great local seafood and local recipes. It's definitely quirky and kind of an odd location on US 1. Don't let that deter you like it did me for a long time (I know, I'm the worst) - the food is excellent and the prices are fantastic. If there's a line, wait in it. It will be worth it. Great story behind the place on their website. We've tried lots of different things on the menu, but the Palm Valley fish & grits and the South Dixie chicken are favs. Note - they don't have much parking. Check w the hostess before you park outside of their lot if you're not sure!
